While browsing the Blogosphere I came across a tag called ‘This time next year…’. From what I can gather there’s no particular structure, as a tag would usually have, but the idea is simply to reflect on all the goals you would like to accomplish in the coming year. Reaching the end of my first Blogging year, I thought now would be a good time to start thinking about where I want to see my blog end year two:
This time next year I would like to have inspired more writers to do what they love. My blog is very much about journey, and I hope we can all move onto the next stages with each other’s support. Similarly I would like more of my writing to appear outside of my blog – I’ve been searching for opportunities such as competitions, print publishing and communities that could help me with this. I’m very keen to start advancing the quality of my creativity.
This time next year I would like to have travelled somewhere new. Since returning from America I have realised how monotonous daily life can be… I want to take time to see something new and let it inspire me to write in different settings. Leaving the country would be something big, but I’d also just like to leave the house more! (Often I get cravings for Starbucks’ white chocolate mochas and I can guarantee I wouldn’t be disappointed if I wandered just for one of those beauties!)
This time next year I would generally like to feel less stressed and do even more that makes me happy. For the past few nights I have been tuning out of social media at nine, getting comfy and reading a book instead of turning to Netflix. Perhaps it’s because it’s not yet routine, but it’s made a huge difference to my mood. When I wake up I’m usually groggy and lazy and the world is hellish! Since starting this new ‘night routine’ I’m quite happy when I wake and ready for the day.
Inspire. Travel. Love. That seems like an OK year to me!
I also wanted to take a moment in this post to tell you some of my favourite blogs / bloggers. These amazing people have made my first year of blogging simply the best! I definitely recommend you to go visit them, for all the reasons below:
Spot on Horror reviews and fabulous food. What more could you really need?
A variety of high quality content which stretches the boundaries of what ‘to blog’ really means.
An inspiration to the writing community with a bunch of great stories to tell – always highly motivating content. (While on the subject, can I just recommend his ‘Faceless Child’ series uploaded earlier this week: no joke, it gave me nightmares?!)
A completely relatable and well-written blog that always seems to know what I want ~ need ~ to read!
Always a well thought-out, opinionated article, I only just found this blog and was hooked immediately. I will certainly keep returning for recommendations.
Thank you all for making me so happy!
Before getting excited about next year, I’m really looking forward to having an amazing Christmas (so close now!). How’s everyone else’s excitement levels doing?!
