What’s your method of coming up/writing your blog posts?
I’m very in the habit of having ideas and writing them down so I don’t forget them. Then I usually write the blog post quite soon after, even if it sits in my drafts for a while before hitting publish. When I’m happy with the quality of the preview, the writing, the pictures… everything! I’ll then decide when to upload. Most importantly for me is that my heart is in every post.
How do you get over a writer’s block?
I don’t often suffer writers block in all honesty… I think the best thing to do is disconnect from the writing for a little while. If you try and force yourself too far it becomes even more frustrating, which isn’t the greatest feeling for inspiration in my experience. Exploring a bit of life would be most helpful in getting fresh perspective and ideas – as simple as watching Netflix or as far as going away for a weekend.
What activities would you like to make a hobby out of someday?
I’d be really interested in improving my photography skills, and making a habit of uploading to Instagram. The same with videos.
Coffee, tea or hot chocolate?
COFFEE. My favourite is Starbuck’s white chocolate mochas but honestly I’ll take it any way you’re offering.
Biggest junk food addiction?
At the moment, it’s chocolate and it’s getting a little out of hand!
Realistically, if you win the lottery, what would you do with the money?
If I won big enough, my priority would be to quit work (at least full time) and focus on making an author/writing career for myself.
How do you remember people by the best? Their faces? Scent? Their voices?
Probably their faces – I’m very good at remembering people I meet!
What guarantees a complete 180° when you need to be uplifted from a bad day?
Definitely spending time with my brothers, in particular watching our baby videos. There’s just something about home videos I love, and we always laugh when we’re together. If I’m alone, I watch other peoples videos on YouTube as it’s the closest thing.
Do you see yourself blogging for a very long time?
Yes! I have fallen in love with the whole culture and style of writing. I love the freedom and creative side of it. To be honest I can’t imagine ever stopping.
Name one (or more) food that you absolutely cannot stand.
Anchovies and Olives.
How do you stop yourself from having blog envy?
Always try to appreciate the positive contribution they are making to the community. Social media’s a new culture that I find not many understand the obsession with: all of us who work hard to prove how wonderful and incredible our platforms are need to stick together. Above all, we pour our hearts out to make content that is ultimately for other people. It’s OK not to like something, but remember that a blog is made to be enjoyed – not crapped on!
Thank you again for tagging me Monica! Because I absolutely loved your questions, I’m going to be a little lazy and tag the following people to answer the same ones:
Great post! Interesting questions, so thank you for nominating me! I shall post my response tomorrow. 🙂
