Being twenty two was a whirlwind. Sometimes I’ve thought of it as slightly reckless, but I think that was adjusting to the drastic change from my previous lifestyle. As I was going through the photos I have taken this year I smiled. I have never had so much fun and adventure in the rest of my life. I owe it to the friendships I’ve cemented and the sudden ability that bloomed to say yes to more opportunities.
These are some of my favourite photos from the past year:
Last night my friend dressed me as an elf and took me to winter wonderland in Hyde Park. It rained very heavily but I still thought it was beautiful. We danced in the Bavarian Village for most of the night. Then we returned to her flat, where our friend had pinned up balloons and banners and lit twenty three candles crammed onto a cake. We drank and talked until the early hours. It was nothing short of pure happiness.
This time last year I would never have pictured today the way it really is. Today, I woke up in a flat in London. I’m midway through the process of moving my things there. A couple of weeks ago I resigned from a job I absolutely love, not knowing whether I was making huge mistake. Simply because I wanted an adventure. Here I am. Twenty three.
