My throat had become dry of attempts at conversation. Even now I couldn't think of any new topic or question to try. I had to accept that Ayumi just wouldn't talk to me. Of course I found it difficult, after all we'd only known each other a couple of weeks, and usually people are at [...]

Alleviating writers block.

A list - can probably be applied to other streams of creativity too A DEFINITON OF WRITER'S BLOCK: FOR ME IT'S AN INTENSE HEADACHE AND A STOMACH FULL OF SHAKING FRUSTRATION. PUSHING FOR A THOUGHT TO APPEAR WHEN THERE'S NOTHING. LIKE PUTTING ONE HUNDRED PERCENT OF YOUR ENERGY INTO STANDING STILL. IT'S A FEELING WE [...]
All been done.

The bar was empty but the words seemed to fill it almost suffocatingly, even bouncing from the gay wallpaper and hanging like a neon sign. Light projected in to make everything bright. Evan was sure his face were covered in shadows. A cold swept over him and made his skin rough as the wooden furnishing.
The July 2019 Chapter

Here's a pattern I've noticed: you make a wish, work towards it step by step but never feel like you're getting anywhere, then suddenly it's done, you enjoy the moment. And repeat. Life seems to be one long process of creation. A constant journey through that pattern to improve oneself. Although it passes us in [...]
Coffee in Liverpool

After witnessing a hectic social scene during our first hours in Liverpool, it was surprising to find the city was exceptionally quiet on the morning of Saturday 29th June. We walked just shy of half and hour through the streets without bumping into many people at all. Our intentions were set strongly on breakfast, specifically [...]
Everybody’s Changing and I Don’t Feel the Same

Some stream of consciousness written a couple of weeks ago... Never before have I felt so chaotic. I've become a person I thought unreachable: someone who loses her sense of time because she's having too much fun, doesn't second guess what she's doing and doesn't care for where she's going too much. If I were [...]
The May and June 2019 Chapters

When May began the rain and cold still graced England. I was loathed to complain because firstly, talking about the weather fast becomes a stale topic. And secondly because I prefer the cold most days anyway. It lends itself to wrapping up warm, which is my favourite fashion. Although, the reason for it being on [...]
Reblog: Body image on holiday
Hey everyone! I’ve been a little quiet on the blogging front this week, but believe something is coming your way shortly. Coincidentally I was thinking of writing about the idea of a ‘beach body’, but my lovely friend has beaten me to it. And done a bloomin’ fabulous job of it!
Holidays.
Those wonderful things that we go on to escape day to day life. To relax, refresh and rejuvenate ourselves.
But there’s the phrase that seems to be uttered over and over. Get beach body ready.
As I sit here in my piece of paradise, sunny Majorca, next to the pool with my feet up, a cold glass of cava and my book, I look around me. Everyone is different shapes and sizes. As a society, we seem to have been taught to think that the Love Island contestants are normal. When in fact, it’s totally the opposite. Don’t get me wrong, well done to them for the hard work they put in to achieving a great body. But equally, when I was 21 I was very slim. I had curves in all the right places and could wear any bodycon dress and look great. When I hit my mid…

Coffee in Prague

Everyone's ambling along. Walking down the cobbled streets your eyes are either fixed on not crashing into any crowds or up at the buildings. The colours are blocked and pastel and I like seeing the different patterns. Every time you look up there's a new one, as though the concrete figures are swimming with the [...]
