On Account of Rain | Photography Zine

Matthew Bruce’s photography gives such a beautiful edge to otherwise mundane objects. Everyday items are brought to the spotlight so naturally you begin to wonder why you hadn’t noticed them before. I find his pictures really relaxing to look over. In his latest zine, Matt was kind enough to publish some words of mine. I love the photographs, taken on a cancelled race day, “on account of rain”. They make me want to explore deserted places to see what was left behind. Taking the same title for a poem, I tried emulate the same themes of emptiness.
